PLATTER (LIN BUCKFIELD)

$150.00

Lin Buckfield is an Australian-born, multi-disciplinary artist based in Southold on the North Fork of Long Island. A celebrated investigative journalist and documentary filmmaker whose work has prompted UN investigations and led to public policy change, she also gained acclaim as the singer-songwriter and guitarist of the pop-rock band Electric Pandas in the 1980s—and is now back in the studio recording new music. For over twenty years she has honed her woodworking craft, drawing inspiration from leaders like Sam Maloof and George Nakashima. Her ceramic work emerges as an evolution of that tactile journey—embracing whimsy, imperfection, and the magic of chance. In Buckfield’s own words, “As an artist I can embrace the fantastic, the imperfect and the whimsical,” seamlessly marrying investigative rigor with creative freedom.
